Words of Encouragement
Merry Christmas
Pastor Micheal R Tackett
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7
It is that time of year again; it’s Christmas. Everyone is busy shopping for the perfect gift to give to that special someone. There will be parties with food and fun. Families will come together, some for the only time this year.
It is a special time of year, but let’s not forget why it is special. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Family is very important, but nothing is more important than the Son of God that came and made a way for us to get to heaven.
Take time this year to teach your family the real reason for Christmas. While you are enjoying the festivities, gather everyone around and read the account of Jesus’ birth from the Bible. Let that become one of your families Christmas traditions.
Have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas this year.

Happy Thanksgiving
Pastor Micheal Tackett
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100:2-5
It is wonderful that a day of Thanksgiving has been established to be recognized by everyone living in this country. It gives us an opportunity to give thanks to God for all the blessing in our life and for all the things he has brought us through. However as the psalmist tells us in the scriptures above, we should be giving thanks every time we come into his house to worship Him.
It is easy to get so overwhelmed with life that we forget to be thankful for the life we have been given. Take some time this Thanksgiving weekend to give glory to God. He is the giver of life and blessing.

Keep Confessing the Word
Pastor Micheal R. Tackett
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Hebrews 10:19-23
There are times when we reach can reach a low moment and allow our faith to wane. We may be going through some situation and it takes our attention away from God. The enemy will use that time to bring on a full scale attack. He wants you to give up and quit. However, rather than quit, that’s the time you have to remind yourself who you are in Christ. You have to remind yourself that the Greater One is living inside you.
The writer of Hebrews reminds us that we must “hold fast the profession of our faith”. Even though we can’t see how things will work out, we must keep confessing what the Word of God says. Don’t listen to the enemy. Meditate on God’s promises instead. If the power of God inside you raised Jesus from the dead, it will surely raise you above whatever you are facing right now.

Why Walk Not?
Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem. And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mark 7:1-8
The Pharisees couldn’t understand why Jesus’ disciples didn’t act like they did. They were used to following what had been passed down to them over the years. They thought that the disciples were way out of line because they were not following the Jewish traditions. However, Jesus let them know that much of what they had been doing was not of God.
Many times people will think that you are out of line if you don’t worship the way they do. When you break tradition and allow the Holy Ghost to take the service, they get upset. They forget that the service is not about man’s way, but God’s way. We are not told to do things the way man likes it. We are told to be led by the Spirit of God.
Don’t worry about it if people don’t agree with the way you worship. Just make sure you stay within the confines of the Word and listen to the Spirit. When God takes the lead, you will always end up right.

Believing is Everything
For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Romans 3:3-4
Don’t get upset when someone does not believe the way you do. Some people refuse to allow the Word of God to be the standard for what they believe. They would rather rely on how they feel or what someone else has told them. Just make sure that you adhere to the Word and you will always come out justified. God watches over his Word to hasten it.

Stick with the Word
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Hebrews 2:1-3
God has given us the ability to do about anything we set our mind to. However, just because we can do something, it doesn’t mean we should. The writer of Hebrews reminds us that we should give heed to what the Word of God tells us we can do. Just because something is a good idea, doesn’t mean it is a God idea. Make sure you stick with the Word when you do something and it will be blessed.

Wisdom
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:13-26
Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. God granted him that wisdom when he asked for help ruling the people of Israel. Throughout his life Solomon discovered the benefits of walking in wisdom. When he penned these words they were a result of his life experience.
In the first chapter of the book of James, he tells us if we lack wisdom we should ask God for it. He goes on to tell us to ask in faith and believe that we will receive it. Since God gave Solomon wisdom, we should have no problem believing that God will also give it to us.
Solomon also tells us in the book of Proverbs that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fear of the Lord is not in reference to being afraid of him, but it mean to revere and honor him. When we allow Jesus to be the Lord of our life and seek him for wisdom, we will begin to see God’s promises manifest to us. Remember, God is not a respecter of persons. He wants all of his children to walk in his blessings.

Bear Fruit
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23
When we received Jesus as our Savior, God placed his Spirit inside us. The Holy Spirit inside us is the seed of God that produces fruit in our lives. How we nurture and care for the seed will determine the outcome of the fruit.
When we go to the market to buy an apple we don’t look for those that are beginning to decay, we look for the apples that look fresh and juicy. Often times we look for the biggest one we can find. The tree that produced that apple did its job well. It drew nutrients from all of its available sources and produced good fruit.
You and I need to draw from the Holy Spirit inside us and produce fruit that will be a blessing to people and glorify God.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. John 15:8

Moving Forward
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14
Paul was a man who knew the importance of pressing forward. He had experienced many things that would have given him reason to give up and quit. Thankfully, he made the decision to forget what he had been through and keep pressing toward the things of God. He refused to allow the trials and persecution he faced to prevent him from receiving his final prize.
We need to follow Paul’s example to keep moving forward. There will always be a reason to quit, but we must keep our eyes on our final destination. There is nothing in this world that is worth more than the things God has for us. God is working on our behalf. The only way we can fail is if we give up or quit. Refuse to lose and keep moving forward.
